Por eso, lo que comemos es fundamental para tener un sistema defensivo fuerte y los probi\u00f3ticos nos ayudan a conseguirlo, porque, como explica la doctora, \u201cestos organismos vivos microsc\u00f3picos aportan una amplia gama de beneficios, como la contribuci\u00f3n en el <strong>fortalecimiento del sistema inmune<\/strong>, el equilibrio de la flora intestinal, el est\u00edmulo a la producci\u00f3n de vitaminas y el apoyo a la digesti\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Eso s\u00ed, para que un microorganismo sea considerado como probi\u00f3tico debe cumplir estas cinco caracter\u00edsticas, seg\u00fan la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Probi\u00f3ticos y Prebi\u00f3ticos:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<em>Tiene que <strong>producir sustancias antimicrobianas<\/strong>, como \u00e1cidos, bacteriocinas o per\u00f3xido de hidr\u00f3geno<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>-Debe ser resistente a ciertas caracter\u00edsticas de la cavidad donde va a instaurarse o a las que atraviesa hasta alcanzarla. La <strong>acci\u00f3n beneficiosa<\/strong> de estos se ejerce a trav\u00e9s de diferentes mecanismos, como la contribuci\u00f3n a la expansi\u00f3n de linfocitos en el intestino o la producci\u00f3n de inmunoglobulina A (IgA), que es muy importante para <strong>la neutralizaci\u00f3n de enzimas, virus y toxinas<\/strong> y el control de procesos en los cuales el sistema inmunitario puede estar afectado, como la inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica o en procesos autoinmunes.
