{"id":15111,"date":"2016-12-20T14:41:03","date_gmt":"2016-12-20T12:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/shamagazine\/?p=15111"},"modified":"2022-03-04T08:46:27","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T08:46:27","slug":"how-to-celebrate-a-healthy-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/how-to-celebrate-a-healthy-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"How to celebrate a healthy christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we approach the<strong> festive season<\/strong>, we\u2019ve got <strong>some tips for you to enjoy the festivities<\/strong> without taking it too far.<\/p>\n<p>We must always remember the three golden roles: <strong>quality, quantity and chewing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whenever possible, we should aim to <strong>choose good quality, organic, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients.<\/strong> We want to enjoy a meal and feel satisfied afterwards, that\u2019s why we should <strong>chew the food as much as possible.<\/strong> This will <strong>aid digestion<\/strong> and will keep us from <strong>overeating.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, how can we make family meals healthier? The easiest way, is by <strong>preparing some of the dishes ourselves<\/strong>, such as <strong>delicious salads<\/strong>, <strong>soups<\/strong>, a <strong>main dish with plant-based protein<\/strong> (for example seitan) and a <strong>healthy dessert<\/strong> (vegan custard, <a href=\"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/healthy-almond-nougat-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sugar-free nougat<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Another healthy alternative is preparing <strong>vegetable p\u00e2t\u00e9s as a starter<\/strong>. We can use our creativity to make them more festive.<\/p>\n<p>Following the festive season, you can <strong>detox your organism by eating a daikon and shitake broth<\/strong> or a simple and nourishing<a href=\"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/easy-miso-soup-recipe\/\"> miso soup.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition, we will aim to keep<strong> ourselves active and do <a href=\"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/exercise-without-joining-gym\/\">exercise<\/a><\/strong> (even if it&#8217;s just a daily walk).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Healthy Christmas Recipes<\/h3>\n<h4>Vegetable caviar<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100 g black depitted olives<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon of tahini (sesame paste)<\/li>\n<li>Thyme and rosemary to taste<\/li>\n<li>Juice of a small lemon<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blend all ingredients and mix them well. Serve with some healthy crackers or vegetables a la julienne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Walnut p\u00e2t\u00e9<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>250 g peeled walnuts<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon of tahini<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blend the walnuts until a uniform paste is formed. Mix the walnut paste with a tablespoon of tahini and add salt to taste. Mix well and add water little by little until a pate texture is formed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Detoxing Broth (great to burn fat)<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 onion<\/li>\n<li>2 carrots<\/li>\n<li>1 celery stalk<\/li>\n<li>10 grams of dry daikon<\/li>\n<li>4 dry shiitake mushrooms (soaked in water beforehand)<\/li>\n<li>1 strand of kombu algae<\/li>\n<li>A piece of ginger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Put all the ingredients in a pot and cover with water (including the water from the soaked shiitakes). Bring to the boil and then cook at a low heat for an hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, these delicious recipes are easy to make and can be incorporated into any Christmas meal.
