{"id":11759,"date":"2015-10-08T17:37:29","date_gmt":"2015-10-08T15:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/shamagazine\/?p=11759"},"modified":"2022-03-04T08:37:53","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T08:37:53","slug":"hot-and-sour-soup-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pre.shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/hot-and-sour-soup-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot and Sour Soup Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This vegan version of the Chinese favourite uses firm tofu and traditional stock and it&#8217;s perfect for the first cold Autumn days.<br \/>\nLet&#8217;s start with this delicious <strong>Hot and Sour Soup recipe<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients for 4 to 6 servings:<\/h4>\n<p>2 teaspoons light <strong>sesame oil<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 medium <strong>yellow onion<\/strong>, chopped<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup finely grated <strong>ginger<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 medium <strong>carrots<\/strong>, cut into matchsticks<\/p>\n<p>1 cup thinly sliced <strong>shiitake mushrooms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 teaspoon <strong>unrefined sea salt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 pound <strong>firm low fat tofu<\/strong>, cubed<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 teaspoon <strong>white pepper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3 cups <strong>vegetables stock<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup lightly soaked<strong> arame<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup <strong>brown rice vinegar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons <strong>honey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon<strong> gomashio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Preparation:<\/h4>\n<p>1. Heat the oil in a large pot and saut\u00e9 the onions, ginger, carrots, mushrooms and salt until the onions are translucent.<\/p>\n<p>2. Add the tofu and white pepper and cook for 3 to 5 minutes longer over medium-heigh heat.<\/p>\n<p>3. Stir in the stock, arame, brown rice vinegar and honey, and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes longer.<\/p>\n<p>4.
